Crock Pot Recipe #1: Beef Ribs

Filed in Candra , THE BABBIES , Uncategorized 5 comments

I so heart my crock pot. I use it all the time. Most beef dishes in my home are cooked in my crockpot, except for a few things here and there. Its so simple to use and for those of you who work all day or go to school (like I do), this will save you so much time.

Note: My suggestion to you crock pot users. Go out and purchas the Reynold crock pot bags. Those things are the best. You use them like a oven roasting bag. They fit inside of your crock pot for cooking. When your meal is over, just pull the bag out and toss. No more messy clean up. (Do I sound like a commercial??)

Anyway, without further delay. Here’s my recipe for super tender BBQ Beef Ribs.

  • 1 slab of Beef Ribs
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped garlic or garlic powder
  • seasoning salt and pepper
  • 1 small onion
  • Favorite BBQ Sauce

First, clean the ribs, then separate them into individual ribs. season the ribs with the seasoning salt, pepper, and garlic. Place the ribs in the crock pot. Slice a small onion and place in crock pot. Cover with lid and cook on low for 7-8hours. Remove lid, and drain fat and juice. Pour on your favorite BBQ sauce and cover with lid. Cook for an additional 30minutes.

The ribs will come out so tender, you may want to use tongs to remove them otherwise they will probably fall apart…Enjoy!!!

I love beef ribs and we cook them all the time in our dutch oven. I will have to try putting them in the crock pot – thanks Candra!

I didn’t know they made crockpot liners! I can’t wait to try this (well, as soon as I find my pot)
