My relationship

Yeah I’m not a celebrity, but this blog is about love and relationships.  So I want you lovely ladies to know a little something about me and my boyfriend, Donovan.

I was looking back at my personal blog and reading all of my entries labeled ‘relationships.’  I have written about Donovan since we began chatting online.  At first, I was unsure about him because of his profile picture and various others.  I thought he was so conceited! (I still tell him that and he doesn’t like it.)  His profile picture was like this: Donovan “posted up” by his car with a blue and green button down short-sleeved shirt with some light blue denim shorts and some Air Forces with shades on!  I was not impressed.  Many of his other pictures had him in some shades.

To be honest, I thought he was like this guy I went to school with; school guy thought he was the cat’s meow.  He believed women were toys and that he was the slickest kid on the block.  What I could never believe was that women would actually fawn over him! (But that is a completely different topic) So whenever I first saw Donovan’s picture, I projected my thoughts of school guy onto Donovan.  I didn’t really want to get to know him.

Boy, am I glad I did!  He is the sweetest man I have ever known.  He loves me, for me (I know that is a cliche, but I don’t know any other way to describe it).  Like any relationship, ours is complicated.  We live in other states and, at times, I am miserable.  Whenever I am really down, I try to remember the little things he has done to show how much he cares.  Before we had even “met,” he sent me a link to this Kevin Michael song; after we first “met,” he sent me a framed picture of us at Disney World; every day he wakes me up for work and talks to me right before we go to bed; he buys me flowers every so often.

Oh how I want to be with him, but I know we both must finish school before that can happen.  Technically, I could move to Florida but he does not want to take me away from my family.  We have set a date for the end of the year, to really discuss this. Whenever you next see your honey, give him a big kiss because that is what I plan to do.

I will give him a big kiss! hubby and I dated in different states for a year..then different countries for another year so I can truly empathise! I think it helped to strengthen our relationship/friendship because we were forced to learn how to communicate and not depend on the physical attraction.

Thank you for sharing. I’m glad to see that you are happy with Donovon, but also you are recognizing that completing your studies prior to moving to the next level with your him is important to. Wishing you two the best :)
