Hey there! Guess who made their way onto this fabulous blog? ME! I’m so happy to be a part of this wonderful group of BABBIES and I’m planning on staying a while.

I’m getting married September 27th, 2008 in Detroit to a wonderful man. I have been waiting for this day for so long and I’m trying to cherish every moment of planning and I plan on cherishing every moment of our wedded bliss together. He is amazing and we love each other so much.

When I’m not planning my wedding, I’m a Teacher and a part-time wedding consultant.

Wedding planning has definitely been an experience. When we first got engaged, I was getting ready to graduate from college and I didn’t have much time for planning, I would only have Saturdays and Sundays to do everything. I would see vendors at weekend bridal shows and would book them right away. I had SO many vendors booked 3 months into planning. It was a mess. I changed my color scheme and wedding theme about 4 times.

Luckily, after I graduated I had a lot of time to sit back and reflect.

I had to calm myself down because I felt like I had ADHD. Seriously, my mind was going in every direction and I was trying to do everything myself. Luckily I found some sense, created a budget (because that is essential!) chose a theme and wedding colors that we both agreed upon, and went from there. I will say that I changed over half of my vendors: the Photographer, Ceremony site, Reception venue, Invitations and Decor. I did more research on the new vendors and I think I made the right decision by going with them, they are an absolute pleasure to work with.

At first I felt bad with all of my constant changes, but you know what? You live and you learn. Now I can share my experiences with the next bride-to-be and hopefully this will help her out in some way. But enough about that…

For my wedding, I’m trying to create a romantic feel. Our colors are light pink, black and white. I never thought I liked flowers, but as I began putting things together, I’m noticing that we are going to have a LOT of flowers. It’s going to be beautiful though. I’m also planning on doing a few DIY projects. I’m just now feeling creative and I’m starting on my projects little by little.

I only have about three months of planning left. I began planning in December of ’06. Time flies so fast these days! These three months are going to fly by so quick! Right now, I’m all smiles but I hope I don’t go crazy as the wedding day approaches. I pray that I don’t. I always think of how this day is a blessing and I don’t want it ruined by bickering, anger or fights. That keeps me focused.
