Ok, so I get frustrated trying to think of new dishes, easy dishes. (Those of you who know me…..know that its a MUST that the dish be an easy fix) Anyway, I created a Chicken Teriyaki dish, that was super easy and turned out great. As usual, I worked with ingredients that were already in my kitchen. I served it over brown rice and with green peas on the side.
As my DH ate his food, he just kept making the noise “ummm”..”ummmm”,…then finally he stated “this is really Good”. Needless to say, he ate every single bit!
If you decide to try it, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Simple Chicken Teriyaki
In a bowl, mix water, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic and ginger with a wask. Pour half of this liquid mixture into another bowl.
Next, cut up chicken breast into thin strips. Place the strips into one of the bowls of sauce, cover with plastic or lid and allow to marinade in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Spray Wok or Skillet with cooking spray or oil. Once heated, add chicken. Cook till done.
Stir cornstarch into the remaining sauce that had been set aside, then pour it into a small sauce pan, put on med heat and bring to a boil. Boil unti the liquid thickens.
Serve this dish with white rice. I poured the thickened sauce over the rice first and then added the chicken.
Enjoy
