Love song

This past weekend, I was teased by my aunt for having Jaheim’s “Never” as my ringtone for Dono. That got me to thinking about how couples come up with “their” song. Is it something significant about the artist? The words?

I really could not tell you what “our” song is; I honestly don’t think we have one, yet. I have “Never” as Dono’s ringtone because he sang it to me (on my first trip to Florida) on the way to meet his mother. It makes me smile. Maybe that is another way couples choose songs…whatever makes them think of their significant other.

I found myself looking at the top slowdance songs according to Rolling Stone:
1. “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing,” Aerosmith
2. “Unchained Melody,” The Righteous Brothers
3. “Crazy For You,” Madonna
4. “Take My Breath Away,” Berlin
5. “I Only Have Eyes for You,” The Flamingos

Whenever I hear these songs, I think of the movie that it is associated with (ie: Aerosmith for Amargeddon, Unchained Melody for Ghost, etc). It’s amazing how certain songs can remind you of a certain person, event or time in your life. Anyhoo, is there a song that reminds you of your SO? Do you have a “couple” song?

I heart Aerosmith’s “I don’t want to miss a thing!”
